Yuchun Lee, Chairman and CEO, is responsible for Unica's overall strategic direction and day-to-day business operations. Lee co-founded Unica in 1992 to meet the technology needs and challenges facing marketers. Under Lee's leadership and unwavering commitment to customers and their success, Unica's customer base has grown to over 800 worldwide, and its Affinium Suite has garnered top marks from Gartner, OVUM and Forrester Research.
A respected thought leader, Lee was selected in October 2005 to serve on the Direct Marketing Association's board of directors. He also holds a seat on the board of directors for Axeda Corporation, a leader in enterprise software for remote services. Lee speaks regularly at industry events and has been quoted in Business Week, Computerworld, DM Review, BtoB Online, Marketing Direct, and Business Finance. A published author, Lee has contributed articles to publications like Executive Technology magazine, has written "The DNA of Smart Business Growth" chapter for the Inside The Minds book series, and has co-authored the book Solving Data Mining Problems Through Pattern Recognition (Prentice-Hall, 1995-1997). Under Lee’s leadership, Unica has received top industry and business community recognition. In 2006, Unica was named for the 7 th year to the Deloitte and Touche Fast 50 and Fast 500 -- the only company to be on the Fast 50 for this long. Unica has also been listed on the Forbes Magazine Midas List of 25 fastest growing technology companies, the Software 500 -- for five consecutive years, and has been ranked – for three years in a row -- as the top leader in marketing automation by CRM Magazine. In 2006, Lee received a Stevie Award for the category of “Best Executive.” In 2002, he earned Ernst & Young's New England Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Technology Media and Marketing, and in 2000 he was recognized as one of Boston Business Journal's "40 Under 40" successful young business and civic leaders.
Prior to joining Unica, Lee held senior-level positions with Digital Equipment Corporation and M.I.T.'s Lincoln and Media Labs.
Lee holds both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from M.I.T. and a Master of Business Administration degree from Babson College.
