Unica has assembled a powerful group of individuals on its board of directors, who have hands-on experience building winning teams and growing companies. Each board member brings a unique set of skills and knowledge that will help guide Unica's development and ensure its continued success and that of our customers.

Yuchun Lee
Chairman and CEO
Mr. Lee co-founded our company and has served in the capacity of President or Chief Executive Officer and Chairman since our inception in December 1992.  From 1989 to 1992, Mr. Lee was a senior consultant at Digital Equipment Corporation, a supplier of general computing technology and consulting services.  Since May 2006, Mr. Lee has served on the board of directors for a privately-held provider of enterprise remote management and monitoring software and has also served on the board of directors for the Direct Marketing Association since October 2005.

Aron J. Ain
Director
Aron J. Ain has served as a director since August 2005.  Mr. Ain was named chief executive officer of Kronos Incorporated, a provider of workforce management solutions, in October 2005.  From April 2002, Mr. Ain served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Kronos.  Mr. Ain has been employed at Kronos since 1979 and has been an executive officer since 1988.  During the period 1979 to 2002, Mr. Ain served in various senior management roles at Kronos, including as vice present, worldwide sales and service from November 1998 to April 2002.  Mr. Ain is a director of Kronos Incorporated.

Carla Hendra
Director
Carla Hendra has served as a director since March 2007. Ms. Hendra has served as the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Ogilvy North America since July 2005, and has been the President of OgilvyOne N.A. since 1998. Ms. Hendra leads the North American region of OgilvyOne Worldwide, the world’s leading one-to-one marketing services network. Prior to joining Ogilvy in 1996, Ms. Hendra served as Executive Vice President, Grey Direct, a division of Grey Advertising from 1992 to 1996. Ms. Hendra serves as a director of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide and OgilvyOne Worldwide. Ms. Hendra has also been a director of the Brown Shoe Company, a global retail, e-commerce and manufacturing company, since November 2005.

James A. Perakis
Director
Jim Perakis has served as a director since February 2000. Since October 2001, Mr. Perakis has served as chairman of Netkey, Inc., a provider of self-service software. From 1985 to 1998, he was chief executive officer of Hyperion Software Corporation, a provider of enterprise financial management and planning software. Mr. Perakis also serves on the board of directors for several private companies.

Robert P. Schechter
Director
Robert P. Schechter has served as a director and the chair of the audit committee since January 7, 2005.  Mr. Schechter served as the president and chief executive officer of NMS Communications Corporation, a global provider of managed personalization service, from 1995 to 2008 and as its chairman of the board from 1996 to 2008.  From 1987 to 1994, Mr. Schechter held various senior executive positions with Lotus Development Corporation, and from 1980 to 1987, he was a partner at Coopers and Lybrand, LLP.  Mr. Schechter is also a director of Soapstone Networks, which develops resource and service control software that automates the service lifecycle for carriers and large enterprises.  Mr. Schechter is also a board member of several private companies and not for profit organizations.

Gary E. Haroian
Director
Gary Haroian has served as a director since January 2009.  Mr. Haroian is a consultant who currently sits on the boards and chairs the audit committees of publicly-held Aspen Technology, Network Engines, and Phase Forward.  From April 2000 to December 2002, Mr. Haroian held various positions at Bowstreet Software, Inc., a provider of software application tools, including chief financial officer.  From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Haroian served as senior vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer of Concord Communications, a network management software company.  From 1983 to 1996, Mr. Haroian served in various positions, including chief financial officer, president, chief operating officer and chief executive officer, at Stratus Computer, Inc., a provider of continuous availability hardware and software solutions.  Mr. Haroian also serves as a director and audit chair for two privately-held companies.

Louis Hernandez, Jr.
Director
Louis Hernandez, Jr., has served as one of the directors since May 2009. Mr. Hernandez serves as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Open Solutions Inc. In addition to his leadership duties at Open Solutions, he serves on the board of HSBC North America Holdings Inc., the North American holding company for the consumer lending arm and principal banking subsidiaries in the U.S. and Canada of one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world.  He also serves on the board of directors of HSBC USA Inc., an indirectly-held wholly-owned subsidiary of HSBC North America Holdings Inc. and one of the 10 largest bank holding companies in the U.S. by assets, and its principal subsidiary, HSBC Bank USA, N.A.  Mr. Hernandez also serves on the board of Avid Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: AVID). Additionally, he has served in numerous governor-appointed executive roles on key economic and technology boards in Connecticut, as vice chair of the Governor’s Council on Economic Competitiveness and Technology, as chair of the Connecticut Technology Council, and as vice chair of the Commission for Educational Technology.
